Nits for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episode
Shadows and Symbols

1. 7000 Romulan Plasma Torpedoes and not 1 launch sequencer:

The nit of the show.

I know it was necessary to somehow disarm all those weapons if the show was to be told in the manner that it was.

But here is a credulity gap a mile wide.

Just who is responsible for shipping 7000 torpedoes but not one launch sequencer? I think the Romulan Quartermaster has some explaining to do.

It's like shipping 7000 shells to the front lines and not shipping a single cannon.

In my opinion this was the single most glaring nit in the show.

Nit Value: 2.00

2. Worf's statement that they will fly "to the molten heart of the sun".

Maybe he was being poetic, but nonetheless it's bad science. It deserves notice, if not actual points off the show.

Nit Value: 0.00

3. No one uses the tricorder after the initial attempt when they beamed down.

This nit leads to giving Avery time to do his craziness and Ezri to get in her humour. Bit it's a clear oversight of the fact they have a tricorder that could have found the thing in about 10 seconds.

Padding for the purpose of developing the changes in Ben and the humour in Ezri.

Nit Value: 0.50

4. Damar refers to the "Federation-Romulan alliance" with no mention of Klingons.

Ok. Maybe he was hitting the sauce and maybe he holds the Klingons in utter contempt and maybe it's just too much to say "Federation-Klingon-Romulan alliance" but considering the Klingons just destroyed the Monak shipyards I expect this mistake to not be repeated.

Nit Value: 0.50
